Our first BLOGMASSS + starting a family blog

ITS BLOGMASSSSSSSS!

Seriously you guys I cannot believe its Christmas. We just put up our tree...LIKE WHAT? This year has gone by so dang fast!

Sunday was just perfect! We were able to just relax and get a few things done. I don't know exactly what it is about Sunday's, but the day goes by slow and it always ends up being just a good day. We were able to sleep in, run a few errands before church and after we finally got to put up our tree!

Sunday's are my day to just be present and not track anything when it comes to food. I try to just live in the moment and intuitively eat. It is a pretty big "snack day" for our family where we make nachos, eat pirates booty, cookies and all kinds of tasty treats. Recently I have really been pushing myself to hit my goal of losing 90 pounds. I have twenty five pounds left, so on days like Sunday I try and relax about calories, but also try choosing the healthier snack options. My go to's lately have been peanut butter and gluten free pretzels for something crunchy and frozen cool whip with gluten free graham crackers for my something sweet!

I am constantly chugging water all day, every day!

Being able to decorate the Christmas tree this year with Mr. Maverick was so special. It is the first year where the magic of Christmas caught his attention. He LOVES looking at all the Chirstmas decor in every store. He will point and say "ooook, aaaaaaaaw" and bring his little chubby patties up to his chest like it is the cutest, most special Walmart $40 Christmas tree he has ever seen! ...By the way, who wouldn't want a little $40 Walmart Christmas tree?! So when we decided to decorate our tree it was just that much more special because he got to be apart of the fun. When we turned the tree on with all of its new decorations, his sweet little heart almost couldn't take it.

Some of my favorite or on ornaments tree!

Those are the moments we live for!

The following morning after I had worked a little We were able to head out to our favorite local church that has a jungle gym to play in. We always tend to use Monday as the day to get maverick out and about to play with other kids. Lately he has been having a hard time connecting with them. It seems like the kids who tend to push and hit, find Maverick. It has been so hard trying to help him feel more confident around new kids and it just breaks our heart. Whenever an incident occurs I walk over and try to talk him through it and dismiss the other kid as much as I can, of course if the other kid is insisting on not stopping then I intervene. All while its happening Maverick just seems to shut down and silently cries. OOOF it feels like such a punch to the stomach seeing him be so sad! He is just so tender hearted and would give all the hugs to everyone that would welcome him. We just love him for it!

Later that night I was able to get to the gym and workout! After my long trip to Boise, I have had such a hard time staying consistent at the gym. Sometimes you need a vacation after your vacation to just catch up on sleep and recover from all the food! I was also having some really rough gym days before that and figured I needed to give my body that break and start back into my training slowly. The last week I have been trying to make it to the gym three to four times a day. I run on the treadmill for thirty minutes and start off slow and gradually make it up to 6.0 MPH and then give myself three minutes to walk and cool off. It seems to be perfect right now. I don't give myself a set pace, or distance to reach, I have just been doing what I felt like I could each day. Surprisingly I have been able to get a really good sweat in and surprise myself with how fast I have been able to go. My only rule for myself is I can't stop once I get started, so no slowing down until my last three minutes. So far, it seems to be just what I need. I would also like to add, how much I love how festive our gym is!  We are very blessed and lucky to have found a gym that is christian oriented. It brings so much joy to our little world!

When it comes to my week and how I am choosing to lose the weight, I have decided to try and stay within 1,450 cals a day, but if I go over that's fine as long as all the food I eat is the healthiest option I can choose from. When It comes to breakfast I just want some kind of caffeine and l have been loving my cliff bars in the morning! I got them from Costco and I have the option of chocolate chip, or some sort of white chocolate nut thing. As for lunch it is pretty basic, I stick with leftovers, or make myself a salad and add some leftover thanksgiving turkey (just putting it out there I put another turkey in the crock pot a couple of days after Thanksgiving so its still okay to eat hahah) on top.

The days have been going by so fast! Maverick and I love getting to snuggle on the couch after his nap, eat a snack and watch a Christmas movie. I am very proud to say he has now watched the original Grinch, Santa Clause is coming to town and Frosty the Snowman. We also have watched Christmas with the Kranks, but that was more for Mama then Mav.

I am loving all the little magical Christmas moments I can get! The craziness is just about to start because I just remembered we have no Christmas card appropriate pictures! AHHHHHH!

Enjoy the holiday cheer these next couple of days and also you should watch the newest Grinch that came out last year because I laughed way too hard throughout the whole movie!
